Observing closely and documenting insignificantly
Lee Geum Hong makes an attempt to speak to the world, observing the chasms of everyday life trivially
and timidly. Lee traveled to Uygur in search of a strange smell; visited Yantai to find out recipes for
familiar food. Lee also exchanged letters with those she met there. She met people in the grasslands of
Mongolia, and went to see the blossoms with old women of a senior citizen¡¯s center. She plans to meet
immigrant women in 2013. They are remembered for us with phrases by Cambodian, Vietnamese young
ladies or deferred payments for international marriages. Why did they come to a foreign country for
marriage where language and customs are strange to them? Lee intends to pay attention to the stories
of the women staying outside the border of our society even though they are members of our society.
